Manuel Morego

Manuel Morego. Spanish author. Plastic artist.

In 1979 he formed the group La Miga with two other Granada authors (T. Flores and J. C. Cardenete), beginning an important and fruitful stage of his artistic career, creating Arabic-Andalusian art. His works are exhibited in different countries and in different regions of Spain.

At the same time that he works with the group La Miga, he holds individual exhibitions. He produces various graphic and advertising design works as well as some portraits.

His first self-taught training was consolidated when he completed his degree in Fine Arts at the University of Granada in 1990, where he obtained his doctorate in 2014 with the thesis “The art gallery as a dynamic agent of Artistic Education.” He has taught at the university level in different subjects related to Drawing, Artistic Education, Plastic Expression, Art History and Aesthetics.

His works fall into various artistic periods. Since 2005, a new stage appears in his painting. Inspired by children’s iconography, he produces works in which the source of inspiration is the symbols, colors and shapes typical of children’s graphic language. Take advantage of this aesthetic to talk about universal themes, such as religion, ecology, power or eroticism…
